Since April

Well I realize that I have not updated our blog for a while. Since my last post we have had quite a few things happen. In mid April, Ryan and I took a trip to North Dakota to attend his Grandpa Russ's funeral. We miss him so much and wish that he was still with us but we know he is in a good place now. We know he watches over the entire family and is enjoying his time up there with Heavenly Father. We did not bring the boys on this trip because it was a quick one. Despite how short the trip was, we enjoyed what time we had with family who came to attend the funeral. It was so nice to be around everyone and support each other during this difficult time.

When we got back from North Dakota, I found out that my Grandpa back home on Guam had a stroke. He suffered a bad one, which resulted in swallowing difficulties and paralysis in his legs. Recently I learned that he was moved into a recovery center to rebuild his strength. He has learned to swallow and is no longer struggling with that difficulty. He is however still struggling to gain strength in his legs to walk again. Please keep him in your prayers. He is a strong man and I know that whatever difficulty he goes through he will make it out stronger. He has the desire to live and I admire him for that... For my family on Guam, I miss you all and I really wish that I could come home to spend some time with you all. You are all in prayers and thoughts everyday.

In our family there are several May birthday's. One special birthday we celebrated here at home is Ryan's. Ryan is not very picky so trying to plan something special for him was not too complicated. The only thing that was a bit hard to decide on is the type of cake I wanted to either make if I had enough time or buy from some place. We decided on Tres Leche Cake from Marianas, which is a Mexican market. I decided that instead of picking out the cake for Ryan I would send him into the store for him to pick out the one he wanted. He came out with the biggest cake and the kicker of it all is he told the lady to write "Happy Birthday to me." And so she did!!! I was a little bummed at first because I wanted the cake to say "Happy Birthday Ryan." He thought it would be fun to have it say something else. Nonetheless the cake was very delicious. For dinner we had chicken adobo with red rice. Our brother in law Pol (Nicole's husband) made the adobo. He really does make some awesome adobo. My mom made the red rice and it turned out wonderful. Because Ryan's birthday was on a weekday, we reserved the next Saturday to celebrate his special day. We celebrated his birthday with family and some friends from out of town.

Also in May we took a long road trip to Wyoming to attend Meghan's (Ryan's sister) high school graduation. It was a nice short trip and the boys had a lot of fun. They did so much better in the car than we did. After 15 plus hours of driving back home, Ryan and I were so tired. We barely could keep our eyes open during supper. Overall, we loved the trip because we got to spend time with family and see old familiar faces.

We started out this month (June) with my college graduation. Although, as many of you know from previous post I finished my degree back in December 2011. The earliest commencement scheduled was in June. I finally got to walk on June 9th at the Orleans Arena here in Las Vegas. The ceremony was long but beautiful. I enjoyed every minute of it. My family came to watch me walk and Ryan did an amazing job juggling the boys during the 2 hour ceremony. He is such an awesome dad! After my graduation Ryan, the boys, and I met my family at Applebees for a quick lunch.

We are now in mid June and I have some exciting news to share with everyone. I have been eager to share this news because Ryan and I are just tickled about the upcoming months, especially December. We are expecting another little one. We are keeping our fingers crossed that we have a baby girl this time. If we are blessed with another boy we will still be happy as ever. We are so excited that our family is growing. The boys will be awesome big brothers to their little brother or sister we will welcome in December. My estimated due date is December 28th. Given my history, I will probably deliver sometime around Christmas or even earlier. We will keep family posted on the baby once we find out more news!

Well everyone that is about all that I have to report for now. Thanks for reading!

We love you all!

A little bit of this and a little bit of that for a quick update!

I cannot believe that my last blog post was in February and its now the middle of April. I am so behind on these blog updates, sorry family and friends...

Let's see, in March our family took a week long trip to California for Ryan's work training. We stayed in a nice hotel suite (Embassy Suites-paid by his work, thankfully) in Santa Ana, CA, which was just minutes away from Disneyland... but we decided not to go for obvious reasons, too pricey $$$$! So instead, after Ryan's training was complete we decided to stay the weekend and took the boys to the Santa Ana Discovery Science Museum, Lego Land, and the Sea life Aquarium (Thanks to my Aunt Kathy and Uncle Gus who got us really cheap tickets on base and for their hospitality in letting us stay in their home for the night, plus all their delicious meals).

The Discovery Science Museum had a special Dora and Diego explorer exhibit. Since the boys love both Diego and Dora we just could not pass up the opportunity to take them on this little adventure. Thomas is a big Diego fan. Anytime we turn the TV on for them to watch, he shouts "Diego." We have even gone through great lengths to keep a Diego DVD in the van for our longer than normal car rides while we run errands on the weekends. Caleb loves Dora because Dora has a monkey buddy named Boots.

Our next adventure was Lego Land and the Sea Life Aquarium. The boys had a blast. Thomas was so fond of all the sea life he got to see at the Aquarium. If he could, he would have jumped into the biggest aquarium in the exhibit to play with all the creepy and interesting looking sea life creatures. As for Lego Land Caleb particularly enjoyed himself because he was big enough to go on most of the rides. We went on one ride as a family, which was the story book boat ride. The boys really enjoyed it and the highlight of the ride is Thomas kept trying to escape the boat. The water was not deep at all, he probably could have fell into the water and survived :-) (Standing on his feet).

I have a ton more pictures to share but it takes too long to post on the blog. You can check out my facebook photo albums if you want to see more pictures.
